The workshop on Pervasive E-learning (PerEL 2005) aims to address the issues of pervasive computing in combination with new types and possibilities of learning, teaching and working. This workshop covers both the technical as well as the non-technical aspects of pervasive eLearning, including innovative learning environments by means of wireless communication. In combination with session and service mobility as well as device independency, the arising learning environments should have the potential to be accessed by anyone at any place and any time. Learning wherever and whenever we need is to become possible. This workshop will cover the technologies, algorithms, architectures, organization policies, and applications as well as didactical and pedagogical aspects and trends of pervasive eLearning, and aims at an examination of future trends in that area. It will present original papers that demonstrate new results of research and development in the field of pervasive eLearning. We are looking for results of theoretical, empirical, and practical studies. Topics of interest are all aspects of pervasive eLearning as mentioned above, including: - mobile communication (asynchronous, synchronous), The aim of this workshop is to discuss new techniques for the support of mobile teaching, learning and working from a pervasive point of view. This includes technologies for the processing of educational material for a wide-spread use on different platforms, communication issues like content service providing, as well as management and security of user data. The workshop wants to bring together researchers and developers from different technical and educational disciplines; its intension is to assemble outstanding work in order to enable the realization of improved pervasive eLearning arrangements. |
